Still awake but my wrist hurt less so I drew while I could. Don’t remember much about the show, but I do remember the episode where he had the evil twin who loved everything opposite of him, especially drinking orange juice after brushing his teeth. I also loved the original game too!

One of my favorite things about an artists portfolio is looking at their gesture and warm up sketches. I don’t post these to brag and sound like “oo just a quick sketch” but I genuinely enjoy the energy of them and most of the time think they look better and more dynamic before I ruined them with the final version ha. Just wanted that out there as to why I post sketches of sketches.
A sad Serge from Chrono Cross, my favorite video game. Chrono Trigger is also amazing and truthfully a better game, but the love I have for the story, characters and the fighting system will forever make Chrono Cross #1 in my heart.
Seriously though, Serge had a good, happy life until his universe glitched and he was suddenly erased from everything.
The Umbrella Corp wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t great. A few actors kept me watching. The kid playing Five was great, Klaus is awesome in every scene, and Mary J. Blige is just fab to me. Here’s a sketch of one of my favorite scenes that I started, but quickly lost steam for finishing.
To be fair, everybody in the show was angry and scowling.
Got around to finishing it and overall I’m pretty proud for a rather quick painting. He actually looks somewhat juvenile, but I don’t think 10 heh. At some point I’ll add a background and touch up the colors where they don’t line up and when I do I’ll just swap old with new. I always forget how much I love using pen nibs and ink, until it splatters or it’s not flowing right. Speedball super black India ink the best; Higgins is too watered down and always seems too grey.
Here’s where I stopped last night. Not too shabby. Unfortunately today drawing hand is totally so swollen I can feel my heartbeat through it with it hanging at my side, and I’m in extreme pain from that. I had hoped to finish tonight, but we’ll see if/when the pain meds kick in.
I have a type if you couldn’t tell. I love me a surly, curmudgeon character.
I’ve been in a lot of pain lately; my wrists and fingers hurting so badly I cant even pull covers over myself without crying out in pain, and the weight of even a sheet making them throb. Drawing hasn’t really been an option lately, but I wanted to paint and wanted to do something pretty simple. In case it takes forever to finish here is my start. I made such a cute sketch, then had to erase it all to start painting…ORZ
Got some watercolors for Christmas, so I did a thing! It took a while because this is my second ever attempt at doing watercolor without lining first. Doing a smooth color wash is hard! I referenced a Zim comic book cover but left out the pigeons.
